Long before Zoo Snoods, founder David Stankunas created Beard Head™ — the original knit beard hats that took the internet by storm and were featured on ABC’s Shark Tank in front of millions of viewers worldwide.
As Beard Head™ grew, fans started asking a simple question: "Can you make something like this for my dog?"
While human beard hats didn't quite work on canine faces, the idea of fun, functional, and adorable knitwear for pets took root. In the fall of 2016, Zoo Snoods was officially born—turning the viral spirit of novelty knitwear into cozy, ear-protecting hoods designed specifically for dogs.
What is a "Snood?"
Traditionally, a "snood" is a soft, tube-like scarf or hood. A Zoo Snood is a functional, animal-themed knit hood engineered for dogs (and the occasional brave cat!).
Zoo Snoods keep your pet warm on chilly walks and protect long, floppy ears from dirt, mud, and moisture. Best of all, they turn everyday outings into instant smiles and unforgettable photos.
Growing the pack
What started as a small lineup of eight animal snood designs quickly expanded into a full collection of handcrafted knitwear, costumes, and accessories—worn by dogs everywhere from backyard play sessions to Halloween parades. Along the way, Zoo Snoods was named a Pet Innovation Award winner and recognized by Wag! as a top pet apparel brand.

LUCKY'S LEGACY
