We didn’t start online. Oh no. Back in 1990, we opened one of Austin’s first female-focused adult boutiques. That’s right — brick-and-mortar rebellion before rebellion was cool. This was a time when Texas thought dildos were more dangerous than assault rifles. Yep. Really.
So we said, “Screw it,” and created a safe, welcoming, sex-positive zone for everyone. Our little Haven of Weird became a magnet for the wonderfully weird: soccer moms, senators, ex-marines in John Deere caps, figuring out how to strut in stilettos… basically anyone who wanted to explore without judgment.
From Brick-and-Mortar to Click-and-Moan
Some of our customers drove hours from rural Texas just to get real sex education and adult products without the side of shame. Many were terrified to step foot in a “sex shop” — which is exactly why we existed.
After two decades of preaching the gospel of erotic freedom, we went digital. Because here’s the truth: sex is amazing. Everyone deserves guilt-free access to better orgasms. That’s what Tabutoys.com is all about.
