 It Started with a Cup of Coffee

Life Cykel was co-founded in 2015 in Perth, Australia, by Julian Mitchell and Ryan Creed. Bearing witness to the massive amounts of nutrient-rich coffee grounds discarded daily by local cafes, they saw a grand opportunity hidden inside what others deemed waste.

Driven to reduce environmental impact, they began harvesting these organic coffee grounds to use as a substrate for growing gourmet mushrooms. This small-scale sustainability project paved the way for a greater realization: functional mushrooms like Lion's Mane, Reishi, Chaga, and Cordyceps contain powerful bioactive compounds capable of optimizing human physical and cognitive health. The name Life Cykel was born—inspired by the circular lifecycle of fungi and the healthy, balanced Scandinavian way of living.

From Urban Farm to High-Tech Bio-Lab

We have evolved from an urban mushroom farm into a global biotechnology company, operating state-of-the-art labs in Australia and advanced manufacturing facilities in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA.
