Our Farm
Our story begins in a historic and special place: the Assanelli family’s Delfina Farm. It was here, in the late 19th century, that great-grandfather Silvio Assanelli established a livestock farm in the countryside of Treviglio, in the heart of the Po Valley.
From the farmyard, alongside his son Carlo, he would gaze out at the dark, silent fields shrouded in early morning mist—a landscape reminiscent of the scenes in Ermanno Olmi’s film *The Tree of Wooden Clogs*.
There were pastures and cornfields crisscrossed by country lanes that froze in winter and turned dusty in summer; rustic brick walls; warm stables; the soft lowing of cattle; the distant chime of bells; and work—endless work—in the fields.
More than a century later, we are still here. Carlo is now a grandfather, helping his sons, Simone and Cristoforo, raise dairy and beef cattle in keeping with our long-standing agricultural traditions.
Our Work
Today, just as in the past, we personally manage every stage of production within our short—or rather, *very* short—supply chain. We respect the seasons and the rhythms of Mother Nature, drawing upon the experience of the generations that came before us.
Simone and Cristoforo cultivate 40 hectares of land surrounding the farm, growing corn, alfalfa, and mixed grasses. These crops are processed into cornmeal and hay, which serve as feed for our herd.
Every day, they distribute delicious, all-natural rations of forage in the stables—rich in local herbs harvested directly from our own land. Our cattle have been born and raised here for over a century, nurtured with genuine passion. We have always shared the fruits of our labor—milk and meat—with local farming families, neighborhood butcher shops, and anyone who visits the farm to buy our products.
Real Meat
Since 2014, we have sought to give more people access to our traditional world—a world built on the land, hay, animals, and hard work. We were the first to sell meat online, and we succeeded!
Mattia, the youngest of the Assanelli brothers, created the platform we use today—a platform that connects us at the farm directly to you, the reader.
Our primary goal is to connect farmers directly with end consumers, re-establishing a relationship based on genuine trust and eliminating middlemen. This is how our "Bovì" box was born—a product that has become our signature: veal delivered straight from the farm to your table, just like in the old days.
This direct connection offers reassurance to everyone: you can buy with complete confidence, knowing the product is authentic, comes from a trusted source, and has undergone no industrial processing. We view this as a testament to the dedication, care, and experience we pour into our farming. It is the bond that unites us and something we are truly proud of.
Since 2019, we have extended the "Carne Genuina" platform to other businesses like ours—companies that share our values ​​and our passion for simplicity. We established a few fundamental selection criteria:
